contribue à diffuser l’œuvre de cette révolution pacifique dans une région en feu. Il montre que le Rojava n’est pas seulement une épopée militaire des Kurdes contre l’État islamique ou un havre d’émancipation pour les femmes, mais que c’est d’abord une expérience politique fondée sur la commune fédérée et la démocratie directe, pour parvenir à une société sans dominations.

Dans l’entretien publié par les Chroniques Noir & Rouge, joint à ce message, l’auteur (moi-même) en présente les grandes lignes.

The Fascinating Democracy of Rojava The Social Contract of the Northern Syria Federation

I investigate critically the achievements of this peaceful revolution in a region at war. This work illustrates that the Rojava is not just a courageous military campaign by the Kurds against the Islamic State nor simply a formidable episode of women emancipation. It focuses on the Rojava as a political experiment, documenting and analyzing the new institutions based on the principles of communalism and direct democracy, which the Rojava population has set up for a classless society. I discuss the main arguments of the book in the attached interview for Chroniques Noir & Rouge.

After Another Future for Kurdistan (2017), I hope that this new book may facilitate a better understanding of the success – as well as the challenges – of the Rojava. Through this analysis, l also would like to contribute to the debate on re-inventing democratic institutions ; and, why not, generate extra support for the Rojava people and their “fascinating democracy.”
